I met my husband while I was a missionary in Hong Kong. He had swum out of China after the Cultural Revolution. We have been married 32 years and have four children (2 biological and 2 adopted), ages 22-30. My mother also lives with us (she just turned 90). I am truly a blessed woman.

Finding Wisdom

Here is this morning's reading from Daily Light.

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom,

and the man that getteth under-
standing.

W HOSO findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, . . . but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD.--The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.

What things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.--In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.--Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

Christ Jesus, . . . is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.

He that winneth souls is wise.

You remind me that I need to dig out my Daily Light. I first learned about the book from a dear missionary named Dr. Dreisbach. Then I read about it in several missionary biographies.

I have been reading the Daily Light since high school days (and that's a long time!!), and it is always fresh everyday, so appropriate for what my soul needs. There is nothing like God's Word all by itself to minister to ALL our needs.
