Wait in prayer

"Wait in prayer. Call on God and spread the case before Him. Express your unstaggering confidence in Him. Wait in faith, for unfaithful, untrusting waiting is but an insult to the Lord. Wait in a quiet patience, not murmuring because you are under affliction, but blessing God for it." - Spurgeon

How is it that this man can speak words, that on paper look like black ink on white, but in practice, in MY life...look a lot more like a big stick on flesh? :)

Thank you for sharing this - it was put here for me to find this very day! Thank you for being faithful to share what Father has given to you.

Spurgeon is one of my favorite (usually in a painful sort of way) writers. His way with words almost seems inspired at times. Oswald Chambers is another who is pretty to-the-point. Sometimes I wonder why both are so popular. Do people actually read what they say?! If we were to say some of those things in today's world we would be stoned.

I think we'd be "lucky" to get away with JUST being stoned. :?

I was reading some other Spurgeon yesterday afternoon and shaking my head at some of the things he said. I was offended by them - not just spiritually offended, but truly offended. Sure made me stop and check my heart. (One of the comments was an all out bashing of women and what a pain they were. He seemed to alter that some a little later, but it sure torqued me when I found it. LOL)
