Quote for the day

My Elisabeth Elliot flip calendar gave this appropriate quote for my day.

"Lord, deliver me from the urge to open my mouth when I should shut it. Give me the wisdom to keep silence where silence is wise. Remind me that not everything needs to be said and that there are very few things that need to be said by me." From A Lamp for My Feet, p. 42

"A man of understanding holds his peace." Prov. 11:12

So true, so true. Why do I feel so often that I must be God's mouthpiece?

Great idea, Dawn! I think I need to do some wallpapering in my room soon!

I've typed out Lamentations 3:21-26 and have it on my computer desk. Verse 26 says "It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord." Waiting is sooooo hard for me, but to wait quietly (without "toiling and roiling" inside, never mind keeping my mouth shut) is impossible without the Holy Spirit's enablement. I am so thankful for His faithfulness and steadfast love.
